Voicemail Greeting

After entering the password to access your voicemail, if you press 3 for Greeting options, then Press 1 to Personal Greetings options and then 6, is the standard greeting getting enabled? 

No.  After pressing one for personal greetings options, my options end at 3.  I don’t have a 6 or standard greeting option.

I personally get 4 options in personal greetings. It’s interesting you get 3, FLo says 6, I have 4. Is option3 for you not to “record a personal greeting?” 

Yes, technically I have 4 options.  4 is to return to the previous menu.  option 3 is to record a personal greeting.  I am looking to activate a standard greeting, not record a personal greeting.

Oh sorry I misread. So you select 3 for greetings, then you select 1 to manage your personal greetings, then you press 4 to delete a personal greeting. That should default to the standard greeting. Let us know if that worked!

As per our documentation, option 6 would only be available when there is currently a personal one set.

What we can do from our end is reset and re-add the voicemail, and you would then be able to set it up again and it should default to the standard greeting.

Please note that this action would remove any voicemail (saved and unsaved). 

If you agree, please confirm the last two digits of the phone number in question.

Last two digits are 48

We have managed to reset the voicemail. Please follow the steps in the article shared by Goran above to set up the voicemail and let us know if the Standard greeting has been enabled.

I can’t get it to work. It asks me to record a personal greeting, and does not give me any other options.

You should be able to choose a standard greeting. If it is already set to a personal greeting, you will need to schedule a callback through Koodo Assist to change it back. https://Koo.do/Chat 

All I get is the option to record a personal greeting.  There are no other options.  Only personal greetings.  I have been through the menus numerous times.  I can delete a personal greeting, but then still do not get any option to set to a standard greeting.

Are you able to test  to see whether the standard option is already set up on your line?

So when you enter voicemail, how exactly can you type out what it says? 

I press 3 to manage greetings

then I get the following options:

1 manage personal greetings

2 manage busy greeting

3 manage holiday greetings

4 manage extended absence greeting

if I press 1 for personal greetings, I get

1 to activate a personal greeting

2 to play personal greeting

3 to record a personal greeting

After my voicemail was reset, when I accessed it for the first time, I am only given the option to record a personal greeting.  No numbers to press, just record a personal greeting.

What am I missing?

The voicemail may need to be reset once again. 

You shouldn’t have to set anything anymore then? What I suggested what if you have a perosnal greeting setup and you want to delete it. If someone calls you, what do they get? That voicemail isn’t initialized or a standard greeting? 

So when someone gets sent to voicemail, what is the greeting currently?  Can you check this?

I just checked.  The greeting currently is, You have reached “my name, in my voice” blah blah.  I want the recording to be an automated voice saying, you have reached “my phone number”

Are you able to record your greeting and just say your phone number instead?

I can, but I would prefer not to.  I am hoping to use the same greeting I used when I was with Telus, which was an automated voice saying my phone number.

Let me flag a rep to help you out.

I mean, I guess you could opt to say your number instead of your name when prompted for the standard greeting. Otherwise I’m not sure how you’d specifically go for a tandard greeting giving your number if it’s not provided in options. Something that the rep Flo or another might have to follow-up on. 

​@Karen R We recommend scheduling a call back with the virtual assist and asking to speak with the technical support team for further investigation.

Try to delete your greeting.  This will set it as the automated greeting with the number.  This is how I have it set up on my voicemail.

Once you have deleted the greeting, please call and check your voicemail again
