Question

urgent help!

We have home internet. And it stopped working 3 weeks ago. I've been calling tech support and they all have told me all the same thing on resetting the modem and router. They also sent someone here to confirm our connection. Which he said everything is fine. They sent out a new set of modem and router. They activated the modem (black box). But our devices still cannot connect. Wehard wired a laptop to the white box and it connects, as well as, we hard wired it to the black box and it connects. The black box has 4 solid green lights and 1 flashing orange light. On the white box, the bottom lights are solid green and top one is blinking green and occasionally red. Connections in the back are good. White box is connected to wlan/lan to the black box. I'm not sure what else can be the problem. And no one from koodo is of help to me at this point.

Did this help you find an answer to your question?

I’m sure it does feel like you’re not getting help, but unfortunately troubleshooting is a specific process. Especially for a third party vendor. When it works, it’s magical. When it doesn’t work, Koodo has to also work with the internet provider they’re getting the service from to resell. They’ve tried new equipment, and they sent out  a tech. Unfortunately, you’re way past the stage of the internet troublehsooting that this forum is setup for. There’s not much we can suggest that you likely haven’t tried or been told to try by Koodo tech support and you’ll have to continue with callbacks to keep with a tech support ticket to further escalate what the issue could be. If the hardware is good, and the connection at home is good, it’s something Koodo has to investigate on their end and that of the internet provider they’re reselling from.

If connecting via hard wire (ethernet cable connection) is working reliably, then the issue is with wifi and that would mean the router is the problem.  I would suggest trying another router (not from Koodo).  I would try to borrow one from a friend or family member or even get a basic one from a Walmart, Staples, Best Buy and see if that fixes things.  If it doesn’t you can always return it.
