Transferred number to Koodo, but Koodo temporary number still shows up on call and on SMS

It’s been more than 8hrs and the temporary number is still showing on my phone, also when calling and sending someone message. I’m not able to receive anything on my actual number and its so frustrating. Call Koodo Agent in afternoon and they were not able to help much even after doing multiple network reset on phone, and from Koodo while shutting down my phone. Tried turning of RCS and other stuff, nothing is working.

Hi @KSHMR the port is complete but there is a system error affecting the change from the temporary to the ported in number. We’ve logged a ticket for this issue, it should be resolved in 1-2 business days. Thank you for your patience in the meantime!

If your Koodo temporary number still shows after more than 8 hours and calls/texts use it instead of your transferred number, the porting process likely isn’t fully completed or activated on the network side. Koodo’s system sometimes takes up to 24-48 hours to finalize porting and update your number on all services. Meanwhile, the temporary number remains active. You need to wait longer and if it persists beyond 48 hours, escalate to Koodo support for a port status check or possible restart of the porting procedure.

24–48 hours? That seems like quite a long time. At the moment, I’m unable to receive any SMS or calls on my phone, which is causing significant inconvenience. In my past experiences, number porting has never taken more than 2–3 hours. I also spoke with a customer representative who confirmed that the porting was successful on their end, and I received the same confirmation on my side as well. Given that, I’m not sure what additional steps are required or why the process is delayed. Thank you for your response, appreciate it.

Hello Georgia, I appreciate you looking into the issue. I was not aware that it would take so long for my number to get ported. I wanted to do some urgent bank transfer, but I do not have access to OTP and I will be unable to do it because of that. I hope it resolves as soon as possible.

@Georgia Koodo @Robert T Thank you, the number have been successfully transferred and working now, appreciate it. Nothing was done from my side, I just saw that I received the delayed messages and that’s when I found out it started working.
