Hi there, I received a text from 4719 stating: (IM503) This number is inactive.

I’m wondering if this is Koodo reaching out to me? Should I be concerned?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

That is not one of Koodo’s current short codes.

I would login to your self serve and if things look normal and your service works then I wouldnt be worried about your Koodo service.

Got the same thing about an hour ago.

@Dennis Are you sure about that? I’ve received messages from 4719 in the past asking if I would recommend Koodo to my friends and family.

Got it 1 hour ago too, from 4719 also...

Do they also say your number is inactive?

Hello, I received the same message from the same short code advising that the number is inactive. I reached out to one of my local groups and multiple people who are also with Koodo received the message between 2:06pm and 2:08pm. None of us still have an answer as to what it means, and our phones are working properly.

It sounds like it might be a glitch.

Let me flag a rep.

Out of curiosity, where are you located?

I am in Edmonton and did not receive this text

Hello !

The message just informs that the 4 digit number code from where notifications were received is no longer active.
This usually happens when the delivery method of that notification changes or is repurposed.

The number 4719 was mostly used to send specific notifications like:  “ Would you recommend Koodo to Friends or Family ? Reply Y or N “.

It is just to inform you to not reply to that number as the reply will no longer go through.

There are multiple numbers that are similar and serve to deliver specific notifications. We will also include our help page here.

Ohhh that makes more sense. Why even send the message though? No one cares or was even aware of that number really. All it did was confuse EVERYONE who got it.
