phone number

I received my new phone today from Koodo as well as my new plan. I transferred all my data from my old iPhone (11) including my number. I received a message from Koodo saying my phone number transfer was successful and I got a message from my old provider to agree to cancel. Now my Koodo self serve is saying the correct number however on my phone itself in the settings it’s using a different phone number. My question is how do I change the number in my phone to my “new”  number, nothing is working.

Hi @Morgy, the port is complete but there is a system error affecting the change from the temporary to the ported in number. We’ve logged a ticket for this issue, it should be resolved in 1-2 business days. Thank you for your patience in the meantime!

Hey! Sounds like your port went through successfully, but your phone's settings are just lagging behind. Here's what usually fixes it:

First, try a restart - power your phone completely off for 10-15 seconds, then turn it back on. This refreshes your phone's connection to Koodo's network and often syncs the correct number to your settings.

If that doesn't work, remove your SIM card, wait a few seconds, then reinsert it and restart again.

if Self Serve shows your correct number and calls/texts are working fine on that number, everything's actually working properly. Sometimes the "About Phone" section just takes a bit longer to update after a port transfer.

Are you able to make and receive calls and texts normally using your ported number? And roughly how long ago did the transfer complete? That'll help me figure out if there's anything else going on.

Typically you can send calls and texts but not receive them while the porting is processing. Is that the case with you? You’d basically have to wait a day until it finishes, since it seems to still be processing.

Hi there, thanks for the response. I’m able to send texts and make calls as well as receive them however when I do that it’s using the number that Koodo gave me and not my old number that I transferred over.

I’m able to send and receive, hoping it will all work out in the next couple days
