Number Successfully ported over to Koodo but temporary number still shows on phone

Recently ported over to koodo with an e-sim- successfully ported over(received the welcome message) but the esim on my phone still shows the temporary number. When I call out it is my correctly ported over number, data also works - but text messages do not work as the esim is still in my temporary number.

Which phone are you using? 
Just to confirm: have you tried to restart the phone or reset network settings of it to see if that can help?

The temporary number showing in your eSIM settings is normal during the port process. Since your actual number works for calls and data, the issue is likely just iMessage/SMS being tied to that old temporary number in your phone’s messaging settings.

Are you having issues with iMessage or SMS?

 I did log in through self serve. My account number is **08. I have a samsung s24 ultra and my text messages dont work (receive or sending sms/mms - rcs chat does not work as well) after the port (calls and data work fine). I ported over my moms number as well and her text messages work(but rcs chat does not work) - I ported my dads number as well but waiting for the physical sim to come in the mail.

 

I thought it was an esim problem so I went to a koodo store and bought a physical sim and same thing ,my text messages dont work cant receive or send out (my phone number ending in 41)

I am having this issue too. Can someone from Koodo assist?

  • Set up e-sim with a temporary number yesterday
  • Ported over a phone number from Fido
  • Set up the new e-sim on my iPhone
  • My phone number when calling is correct and data works
  • On the settings for cellular, it still showed the old number.
  • Tried restarting the phone and then even manually changing the phone number to my ported number on the cellular settings
  • RCS and SMS not working (sending & receiving)
  • iMessage and FaceTime stuck on verifying stage

We see that you managed to get in touch with a rep over the phone in the meantime who was able to assist.

We can refresh the settings from our end to see if this can fix the issue.

Plese turn your phone off for 15 minutes and let us know here before turning it off.

I called in and the tech support fixed my text messages(incoming and outgoing work) but my RCS chats are still not connecting/working. Tried clearing cache/data in the google messaginh app, restarting phone, restarting network connectings ect. RCS stuck on “connecting”

It may takes a little longer to sort out still. Otherwise itd be another callback for a tech support ticket,

Have you tried to turn off the RCS for few minutes and then turn it on again following this Google guide? https://support.google.com/messages/answer/7189714?hl=en

I have t he same problem since porting over to Koodo. Can receive phone calls but not text messages

You can try calling the porting department  1-844-232-7678 if the porting is still processing, you’ll be able to get through to someone. Otherwise it’s a standard callback through Koodo assist for a technical support ticket

I am having the exact same issue on my pixel.

Ported the number over but I have lost SMS.

Calling works and my number is ported for calling.

Please help as I need this for MFA to get into my bank.

Number ending in 8558

 

Edit: I also can't get through to customer support any other way , when I call digital assistant says I'll send you a text msg, but I am not receiving SMS so that's useless.

I tried Koodo Assist but they can only call me back on Dec 3.

I also need the phone to be able to receive text messages for MFA.

Since you are having issues with the callback, you can send a message to a rep on Facebook Messenger or Twitter and wait for them to respond back to you. https://m.me/Koodo

Update: With no action from me, it appears this morning, my SMS/RCS and iMessage related services have turned on. Maybe Koodo has a backlog with activation of services?
