Number ported from Fido but text not working

Hello,

I recently ported my number from Fido and it seems like data and calling is working fine, however, text is not working at all. iMessage and RCS are also not working. I have read that sometimes porting with imei number (instead of account number) can cause issues like this. The transfer was to an eSim. Can someone help me? Call back on chat is not working due to high volume with requests.

Hey there,

This is a known issue after porting to eSIM. The temporary number in your eSIM settings can block SMS validation even after successful porting. Try restarting your phone first. If that doesn’t work, contact the porting department at 1-844-232-7678; they can refresh settings from their end. Some folks needed a new SIM card to fix it. Since chat’s backed up, the phone line is your fastest bet for SMS restoration.

Have you already tried restarting your phone? What about resetting your network settings on your phone? Did you toggle off and on iMessage to see if the number gets automatically updated?

You should check self serve for your port status if it was completed or if it says something else. You can find this under "Manage your phone number" in self serve.

Using the IMEI in place of the account number can cause the port to fail sometimes so I would check it to be sure.
