Question

No wifi

I had just noticed that my Samsung phone is not connecting to WiFi. It states it cannot find IP address. I went to a different location and used their network and it worked fine. I believe this may have to due with the new Telus tv boxes I had to upgrade to. I have tried removing the sim card, turning airplane mode on and off. Rebooted the router a few times. I am at a loss for the next move. As I get deeper into trouble shooting the more confused I am. Can anyone suggest any other tips.

Hi there @keoll  If you recently changed the TELUS router, did you try, to forget the Wi-Fi connection in the settings from the phone side and then reconnect ?

Hi,

I did do that. My router didn't change. The Telus tv box that connects to the router was upgraded.

I did get it working but the setting I changed from randomized mac to phone mac states my phone may get tracked.

I am not sure what the next step is to get the setting changed back and the wifi working.

Thank you for replying.

Hi @keoll, if the Wi-Fi on your phone works with a different network but not with your new TELUS modem there might be a setup issue with the modem.

Can you see it when scanning for available networks? There are usually 2 networks you can choose, the 5G and the 2.4 connection, does neither work? Can you connect to the Wi-Fi on other devices?

You can also try to reset the network settings on your phone. This will not erase all of your phone data but it will erase your saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.
