I left Canada for four months and removed my Koodo Sim during that time. I continued to pay my phone bill, but when I returned, I received no texts or voicemail from the time I was gone. I know people had sent e messages, but they did not arrive.
Are those messages gone forever, or is there a way to retrieve them? If I remove my sim card, does that mean that any texts sent to me in that time disappear?

Text messages only remain in the system for a few days (i think 5). After that time, the messages are no longer trying to get resent.
Same with voicemails, they are only kept for 10 days

Hi there,
so Koodo will attempt to send up to 100 text messages for up to 5 days once they’re sent. Beyond that I believe they’re lost to the wind. Sorry if this is not the result you were hoping for. Alternatively it might be best if they send you messages over say iMessage (if you’re both iPhone users) messenger or what’s app in the future as those can work over wifi if you have coverage. I hope this helps
