My Sim card reflects a wrong phone number

i ported from Public Mobile to Koodo , the temporary phone number on the Koodo sim is still showing on my sim setting . My phone does work with my real phone number but is not showing on the Koodo sim

Hi there,

How long has it been since you ported the number? And have you tried the following:

  1. Reset your network settings
  2. turn off the device, remove the sim, re-insert, and turn the device back on
  3. restart the device

This is a common thing to occur when you switch numbers. Usually, it just takes a bit of time for the device to update but by doing things like resetting the network settings this can speed up the process of the device receiving new information from the network, ie, a change in number.

That temp number after porting is normal—calls/texts use your real one, but carrier info takes time to update. Check Settings > Phone > My Number (iPhone) or Settings > About phone > Status (Android) and refresh the SIM data.

For iMessage/FaceTime, sign out/in under Settings > Messages/FaceTime and pick the right number.

This has been reported as an issue on the past, but as long as your service works, I wouldnt be too worried about it as it is just a visual glitch and the number in your sim manager will update over time

Thank you for all of you replies . I’ve got a call back happening tomorrow , it’s been about a week now and the temporary sim number still showsÂ
