Question

lack of coverage in Guelph

I live along the river in Guelph and my coverage is typically one bar of 3G. Today, my phone is showing SOS. A short travel to the downtown or up Eramosa Street increases the coverage to 5G. But right now, in my house, I’m unable to make a phone call or receive security authentication from certain apps. If nothing can be done about this, I will be looking at another carrier, though I’d rather not because I’ve been with Koodo for so many years now. Please help.

Coverage issues like SOS or weak 3G along the river in Guelph may be due to tower distance or local interference. Moving to downtown or Eramosa Street helps because those areas have better 5G coverage. Unfortunately, if your home area lacks good signal, there’s no quick fix on your end. You can just try enabling Wi-Fi calling if available or contact Koodo support to check for local network upgrades or signal boosters.

Have you asked your friends or family members that are using Telus, Bell, or Rogers in your local area to see if they have a better connection? If they are also having issues, it may be a dead zone for all carriers.

These are both very good suggestions. I’ll start by following up with Koodo and will also check with other carrier customers. Thanks,

You can get pretty technical and take a look at the tower around you here :
