Koodo connection issues compared to Public & Telus

Over the past few years we have had Telus, Public Mobile and now Koodo. The signal here in our house in the centre of town in Campbellford has never been great (1-2 bars) and I gather that Telus relies on Bell towers in rural areas of Ontario under a tower sharing agreement. We have had intermittent connection issues with both Telus and Public Mobile with people being unable to hear us or us unable to hear them or just garbling noises that require a callback, sometimes twice. It was bearable under both Telus and Public Mobile but once we switched to Koodo it became noticeable worse for us. After months of trial and error we have came to the conclusion that Bell is actively reducing the transmission power for Koodo users greater than that of Public Mobile and Telus users. We hope this can be addressed because the connection issues have become unbearable. We have enabled wifi-calling for the time being and yes our previous android phones do provide less connection problems than our brand new iPhone 16s and 17s likely due to the power of the internal antennas but this just should not be happening considering we have been with a Telus brand our entire lives while being here in Canada. Thank you for any assistance and addressing these issues and providing any additional tips!

That seems rather odd, to be honest. I wouldn’t expect Koodo specifically to be “downgraded” in signal access. I could only suggest afer yu doing the basics of troubleshooting and enabling wifi-calling is to schedule a callback through Koodo Assist to open a technical support ticket to see if there’s any known issue on the Koodo side and if there’s any more info on the issue.

I would suggest you to schedule a callback through Koodo Assist and speak with a rep about the issue in your local area. There may be some sort of ongoing maintenance that may be causing this disruption. They should be able to direct you to the appropriate department. https://Koo.do/Chat
