If you were charged USA roaming while in Niagara Falls and never entered the USA, the charge is likely due to your device connecting to a US network near the border. Koodo recommends manually selecting the Koodo network in your phone settings to prevent accidental roaming charges.

For more details on how to prevent accidental roaming charges, you can check out this article.

I can flag a rep for you if the bills have been posted on your bill.

Just to confirm, did the charges show up on your most recent bill or was it just the notification saying you may have roamed?

Ok, I will flag a rep so he can take a look at your bill and reverse the charge. The rep will probably reply back to this topic in the following hours.

To avoid this from happening again, you can manually select your network to Koodo, so that your phone does not automatically connect to a cellular tower. You will need to do this every time you restart your phone.

In the meantime, you may want to upvote this idea. If there are enough votes, Koodo may consider this option in the future.

Hello @chestanch

We verified the day with the charge and confirmed accidental roaming. A credit was applied for the fee and will update within 3-5 minutes in the Self Serve account.

Sometimes the device is going to catch the network on the other side.

It's a world-wide situation, since the device settings are set to automatically search for the strongest signal.

You can follow the steps mentioned by @MilkyWay  to avoid future similar fees. You can also keep the Data Roaming setting off.
