My previous mobile provider was CTExcel, which uses the Telus network. My wife and I were on the same account, sharing one account number. Since the end of last year, my phone has been unable to make or receive calls, but data and text messaging worked fine. Meanwhile, my wife's phone service was completely normal.

Two days ago, I ported both my number and my wife's number to Koodo. We are still sharing one account number. Strangely enough, this time, my phone works perfectly, but my wife's phone can't make or receive calls. However, her data and text messaging are functioning normally.

My guess is: could it be that Telus' network doesn't support having two numbers under the same account? Is there anyone who can test this?

Can I transfer my wife's number to a separate account with a new account number? This seems like a potential solution, but only if my guess about the issue is correct.

Any insights would be appreciated!

Which phone are you using? have you tried to reset network settings?

as well, has the number transfer process completed? did you receive a sms from Koodo saying the number transfer process was completed?

both andorid phones, all transfer process are done.


Are both plans the same?
Could you have ported your wife’s number onto your sim and vice versa, so the problem technically still remains with the same lines?

 

Are you on postpaid?  I dont feel the issue of being on the same account number is the likely issue

We have looked into it and can confirm the  transfer to Koodo was successful.

Based on how the issue occurs, it may be a compatibility issue with the network, you can check the compatibility using the IMEI here: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/phone-compatibility

I don’t know the cause but changing device is the way to solve it.
