Getting Warranty error. ERROR CODE - 3001

Hi, I’m trying to help my mum switch to Koodo and everything went fine with the purchase right up until the final confirmation when we got the error as mentioned in the title.  The full message was:

Oops! Something went wrong.

Getting Warranty error. ERROR CODE - 3001

So…. what went wrong? What are we supposed to do? She can’t afford the $70 to sign up in store but I’m at a loss for what needs to happen. The address on her credit card matches the one we put in for the Koodo account, we verified with drivers license, etc. WHAT GIVES?

We had issues signing up with Freedom, who said they couldn’t port her number because it had to originate in their coverage area. When I asked for clarification they said it had to be from Ontario, Alberta, or BC. Thing is, it is ABSOLUTELY from Ontario lol I was there when we set it up. Freedom’s customer service was really awful and we really don’t want a new phone number so I said nevermind that and moved on to Koodo.

Anyway. Any hints would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Did this help you find an answer to your question?

Was it an order with a phone or just a SIM Card? As well, is the area code the same as the province in the address? I wonder if there is issue with security check

Just a SIM card, she wants to keep her phone, BYOD style. It’s a 249 area code, given to her by Telus somewhere between 2015 and 2018. Looking it up, it’s an overlay for the 705 area code, (Northeastern Ontario).

All I can think is it’s a problem with the payment/ ID verification… but WHAT problem? The error code is providing no hints there.

All the info is being read off her physical card, it’s associated with her address and everything… I just. I’m so confused. I would happily put it on my own card and then switch the payment method afterwards! But the address on the payment needs to match her home address and everything. Which makes sense for fraud prevention when buying online but yeah. I just don’t know what to do.

I wound recommend you try again using incognito mode of the web browser to see if that can help.

If it doesn't, it could be an issue with their online processing system. Let us know, someone will flag a rep for you

Hi @Sunfish66

Have you managed to place the order in incognito mode as Dinh suggested?
