I was a victim of fraud. The person swap my sim card to another phone. I do not have access to my phone number. I cannot talk to anyone from Koodo. Everytime I try to call I’m being redirected to online service and then I’m asked to give my phone number and notification are send to that phone number. My dad even went in person to a store and they told him they could do nothing. It’s been more than 12hours I’m trying to connect with someone, talk with someone and it is not possible.

Sorry this has happened.

Did the rep tell you how the sim swap occurred? As Koodo now send a 2FA message to the holder of the number for a sim swap to be performed. Did you receive a notification when the sim swap happened?

Also, you should reset your password for Koodo self serve immediately if you haven’t already.

I changed my password. Someone called me having a lot of my personnal information, they told me they were from Koodo. They asked me if I had made a change in my adresse. I told them I did not. They asked me if that adresse in my file was the correct one. They gave me my old adresse so i told them it was my old adresse. The guy asked me if i wanted to update my adresse I said yes. I gave him my new adresse.

After that everytime i tried calling its written not registered on the network. The person started making purchase with my uber eats account. He locked me out of all my application including my email. I was able to cancel all my bank cards, etc. I was even able to retrieve my email but now i just need to retrieve my phone number.

I just cannot talk to a real human person since last night.

Ah I see. Thank you for the extra information.

I will flag a rep on here to assist and they should be able to help, they take events of Fraud very seriously. Make sure you’re logged into the community using your koodo self serve credentials and they should be able to assist here.

However, just to confirm, are you still able to sign into the forum using Koodo credential? If you can’t, Koodo rep might not be able to check the account. If that is the case, you will have to schedule a call back from Koodo www.koodo.com/chat

Hi @Mimiz

We have just checked your account and we see that you managed to get in touch with a rep and the services are now suspended, so the line can no longer be accessed by the person who got access to your number.

We have limited access here on the community, however we would like to make sure everything was addresssed with the rep regarding the protection of your account.

Can you please let us know if you received an SMS to your number to authorize the sim swap yesterday, before the line got disconnected?

Hi, no i did not received an SMS to authorize the swap.

My phone was just back in service. I had to deactivate it again.

I do not understand why it was back in service.
