I just read that telus had been the victim of a data breach.  I saw no mention on the article oc koodo,  an off shoot of telus. I was just curious if koodo may be affected by this breach?

It seems to affect business customers that mainly deal with Telus Digital. I would suggest you to wait until further notice. If you are affected by the breach, you should receive an email from Koodo.

To add to the story: It's a developing situation (announced today) The breach specifically targeted "Telus Digital", which is Telus's business process outsourcing (BPO) division that provides support services to global brands.

However, from the news: the hackers claiming responsibility (ShinyHunters) have stated that among the 1 petabyte of data stolen, they obtained "call records for Telus' consumer telecommunications division." Telus has officially confirmed they are investigating the cybersecurity incident.

At this exact moment, neither Telus nor Koodo has released a statement confirming exactly which consumer accounts or what specific Koodo data might be affected. Under Canadian law, if your personal data was compromised, Koodo is required to notify you directly.
