I have a used Alcatel flip phone from the US. I just got my Koodo sim card but it says ‘invalid sim’. I realized it’s locked so I entered IMEI for Koodo to unlock but it says ‘invalid IMEI’. I triple checked the IMEI and I have the right 15 digits. Why doesn’t Koodo recognize the IMEI? Is there another way to unlock it?

You need to contact the U.S. carrier which it was locked to and obtain a code from them to unlock your device. Alternatively, you can search for services that will provide you with these unlock codes for a fee.
Thank you! Will try that.
