My Plan has limited outgoing minutes. Can i use my home WIfi network to make Wificalls and it will not count against my outgoing cellular minutes?
Unfortunately, WiFi calling minutes are counted toward your total minutes. They are not separated from your total minutes package.
Wi-Fi calls and messages are treated the same as cellular calls or messages. Also, there is no charge to use Wi-Fi Calling for a Canadian long distance call.
Here are some details of how Wi-Fi Calling is billed:
- Local calls: these calls will be deducted from your monthly voice allowance and any overage will be rated according to your plan
- Canada calls (domestic long distance): you will not be charged long distance
- USA or international long distance calls: customer will be billed at their plan’s standard international long distance rate

If the other person has unlimited minutes, why not text them to call you back instead? That way, you won’t need to use up your outgoing minutes.
Get an inexpensive VOiP service and an app on your phone to make calls wherever WiFi is available. Usually no long distance surcharge for calls to US numbers as well.
Thanks for the information everyone.
