I was called by a koodo rep today (showed telus). At first the rep was courteous and asked how I have been doing. Then he tried to sell me home security, which I promptly turned down. He was uncomfortably insistent. I had to turn him down 4 times, each time explicitly stating that my decision is final. I told him I am not interested in extra services and I will only proceed if he has a promotion regarding my existing service. He then tried to sell me new services twice more. At this point I am frustrated and told him enough is enough. He immediately hung up on me. I have been koodo customer for 4 years and what a bizarre experience and a terrible business model. I had politer calls from chimney sweep scammers. Do this happen to others?

There are reps that offer these deals on behalf on Telus. If you do not wish to receive any further solicited calls, you can schedule a callback through Koodo Assist and let the rep know. They can remove you from the list. https://Koo.do/Chat

Do I really need to dedicate my time and go through hoops to not receive calls, in this specific case bordering harassment! Is there web portal alternative?
Well, If you don't like those types of call and don't want to contact Koodo, when they call you next time, you can tell them to remove you from the list.
I am personally received 1,2 calls from promotion team last 2 years. It is sometimes good to know the market and offer from carriers.
We have had a few calls lately but I really think you got the odd one out. The one who called us tried to sell us a Telus TV package and security and while slightly pushy, he was also courteous and respectful. I guess it just depends on the circumstances, like what mood they were in, etc.
You can also tell the next caller to take you off the list, if that is less of a hassle to you.
The simplest thing is likely to wait for the next call to say you want to be removed from the list. We could also flag a rep here to have you taken off if you like.
