Automatic upgrade to Stream+ Basic with Netflix Standard

I met the promotion of “All your favourite content in one place from $10/mo. for 3 months.”

I purchased “Stream+ Basic”, but it is automatically upgraded “Stream+ Basic with Netflix Standard”, and it requires more payment.

 

That’s what I did. You can see “with ads” option that I purchased:

 

However, I have gotten antother email later. Most of all, it is not a free promotional upgrade. The last picture shows the increased payment, but it is not a my choice as the above clears shows:

 

 

What happens to my subscription? I tried to contact the Koodo servecie centre, but it is impossible to discuss subscription issue. Only Mobile phone issue is available. It is also impossible request scheduled callback or talking to agents.

You’re able to request a callback but it’s just some more specific keywords. Usually you give your number and ask for a callback and just say generally what it is you need and callback agian.

But I’ll flag a rep to see if more info can be found about what’s going on here.

When you setup Netflix after purchasing Stream+, it’ll give you the option to stick with standard with ads, or for an additional fee choose a higher plan and you can also change the plan at any time.

You can login to Netflix and change it back to the basic with ads at any time with ads as well if you wish:

You can login to Netflix and change it back to the basic with ads at any time with ads as well if you wish:

 

I didn’t upgrade the Netflix option, and it is successfully done “with ads option”

Can you login to your Netflix and check what plan you have within Netflix?
I don’t believe the text updates on the Koodo side to reflect the upgrade as it’s more of a Netflix plan change than a Koodo one.

It is only for mobility users only, not for internet users. There is no interface for internet users.

 

There also should be an option for Internet right beneath prepaid, but we should be able to fix this but just changing your plan within netflix itself.

Have you had the chance to check in your Netflix account as ​@Allan M suggested? Which Netflix plan appears active there?

I cannot do that. There is only Standard or premium as options.

Finally, I can enter into Home Internet, but how can I get the 10 digit Koodo  number?

The system cannot recognize my phone. In addition I find out find out “10 digit Koodo  number” in the website.

That is your Koodo line phone number that you should use. What does it say exactly when you type out your Koodo phone number? did you provide a different phone number when setting up internet with Koodo?

From here I would contact Netflix support to get them to change your plan.

Your plan has been upgraded through Netflix so the downgrade needs to be done through them as well.

If they say they can’t help, then the only fix the would be to remove stream+, wait until the paid month runs out, and then rebuy stream+ basic.

The purchasing experience and customer service is very dispointing, and I am exhaused to handle this issue with Koodo.

 

It is very difficult to contact them through home page menu, chatting, even through the phone. I found out their number, 866-955-6636, and had calls six times, but I cannot contact agents nor ask for scheduled calls.

 

I don’t have any choice and decided to dispute this transaction through my credit card agency.

Did you try the method that Allan mentioned earlier? You will need to remove Stream+ from your Self-Serve account, wait until your monthly subscription ends, and then buy the package that you want.
