Worst customer service i have ever experienced

It’s impossible to connect to a live person to deal with issues, im so frustrated.  Before I left for a Dubai i did manage to speak to a rep to assist me with putting my phone service on hold. She told me that wasn’t an option because I had a tab from purchasing a new phone. She suggested easy roam and confirmed this would be set up for me. I was shocked when I saw my statement, 150$ in long distance charges. What was the point of me paying for easy roam. I spent hours trying to connect with someone while in Dubai only to be told they could reduce is by 27$ I explained that I was on the easy roam but they said they were legitimate charges. When I asked to dispute this they advised me to contact Telus, I couldn’t t use my phone because I feared additional charges so communication was by text, I tried to contact Telus but when I used my credentials to sign in it wasn’t accepted. I got the total runaround with the service reps and when they decided even though I wasn’t finished they would leave the chat and end the call. It’s impossible to get assistance that is helpful. Once my tab is paid I am cancelling my account with Koodo, worst phone company in my opinion. I’ve been a customer for 10+ years and was treated with such incompetence and rudeness.

Does anyone know how to reach the Loyalty Dept. ? I was advised to contact the Loyal Dept by the customer service rep who sounded like they couldn’t be bothered to deal with my issue, and I can’t seem to connect with them. Im sure the service rep who suggested this could have transferred me but chooses not to. I just absolutely regret ever signing up with Koodo! Im just having such a stressful unpleasant experience.

If you had a Tab, you could place your device on a “seasonal hold” for $15 per month. Did you request that option?

Regarding the roaming fee, if they had proper proof that you used the service while traveling overseas, a charge would apply. Typically, they send a roaming SMS to your device outlining the price and conditions.

As for the Telus number and the Loyalty department, why were you referred to Telus? Was it related to a complaint you wanted to escalate? Koodo does not have a dedicated number or contact for a “loyalty department.

International Easy Eoam is $18/day which means you’d of reached $150 in charge with about 8 days of usage of your phone while outside of Canada.

Did you use your phone while outside of Canada?

This is the info for seasonal hold plan:

Seasonal Hold plan | Koodo Mobile

It’s $15/month, or $30/month if you have an active tab. So you were able to do it if you wanted, but at a higher cost.

The alternative would have instead been to remove “international voice roaming” and “international data roaming”  within your add-ons in self-serve, so roaming couldn’t be provisioned at all. If you wanted to be able to receive texts, then you’d have to keep “international voice roaming” on so you can connect to a roaming network. in that case, data would not be an option, and your chances of roaming would be restricted to making or accepting calls (voicemail included) or outgoing SMS messages.

It sounds like you had been given the wrong explanation about what easy roam is and how you should manage your roaming, which it does not. It keeps you from racking up thousands of dollars, sure, but it is still a daily $18 charge.

It’s ridiculous that I have received more information from the Koodo community than I have from the representatives ! The person I spoke to before I left didn’t provide any of these suggestions.

It’s been impossible to reach the loyalty department, I can’t get past the automated message and I can’t have a call back because I now have a Dubai number and I can’t use my Koodo number to receive the call as it’s long distance and im afraid of the additional charges. I’ve given up, Ive sent numerous emails to Koodo customer service and have not received even one reply. How can a business operate like this.

You should have mentioned you were traveling in Dubai. If you are overseas, contact them via Facebook/X messaging, the links are below at the bottom of this forum web page.

Koodo doesn’t use email for customer service, and please don’t expect too much much from loyalty department.
