why was i overcharged on my prorated days on first bill?

Recently signed up with koodo as a second line on my wife's account. Price offered 25$, a good deal. I didnt start on the billing cycle date so I was charged for 16 days of the month. I was charged 20.37$ though for just 16 days out of the month. Even on the koodo website it explains prorated charges and it clearly states an example that if you habe a 60$ plan the you pay 2$ a day in prorated charges.

I even called them but they couldn't explain why I wasnt charged according to thier websites description and didnt even help out and adjust it?

Im curious how could they have came up with 20.37$ for 16 days on a 25$/month rate?

I assume you saw the number from the summary page. Have you got a chance to look into the page 3 and 4 of the PDF bill? Those pages should have more detail of the fee.

If possible and if you would like someone to look further, can you post a snapshot of the page 3 (or 4) where it show the number in question here? Hide all personal information before posting please.

Appreciate the quick reply. My wife got the bill and we just called them about the high first bill and they let us know this over the phone. Another surprise too was when I initially signed up with koodo I told them I wanted to keep my phone number so they gave me a temp phone number for like 5 mins while they swapped my number over from my previous provider to koodo. When i had called to inquire about the high first bill they said on the phone there was a like 9.45$ charge for the temporary number which added to the first bills high amount. That was a shock and luckily they credited us that $$ back.

I will get my lady to send me a picture of the bill being its on her account and post it up here. Cheers man 🍻
