My credit card was scammed during my trip to other country and I had to freeze my credit card account. The bank needed to confirm my identity so they had to call my number. Then I noticed that I was charged for Easy Roam. Why should I be charged AS A VICTIM IN A SCAM?

@Bragi well, the system doesn’t know why the person was calling you nor why you chose to answer that call, all it knows is that there was an accepted incoming call, which triggers roaming.  It’s probably worth reaching out to support, explaining the situation, and asking if they would give you a bill credit.  Obviously there’s no guarantees but I imagine most agents would be sympathetic to the situation.

On another note, hopefully you got your financial situation with the bank sorted out without too much hassle.  Wishing you good luck in that regard.

I am sorry this happened to you,  but I am not sure what your credit card being scammed has to do with Koodo? How would Koodo even know you were scammed? Even if they somehow knew, it really has nothing to do with them.

I suppose you could contact Koodo and explain the situation, but it would be like asking your cable company to waive your payment because your credit card was scammed.

I went through something like this years ago and it was a huge pain to deal with so I wish you luck.

Typically financial institutions have a non 1-800 series number to call when you’re international, where they will accept the call collect charges for you if you make such a call. It may not always be clear. Often it’s on the back of your debit cards, but may not always be on credit cards. It’s unfortunate that you weren’t aware of it this time. But I have no idea how that would work in an easy roam activated scenario vs pay-per-use if you were to call collect. I can ask a rep about that specific scenario, much as it doesn’t help you right now.
