I changed my rate plan last month and now I have a flat $15 dollar charge for “rate plan change”. To me it doesn’t sound like a pro-rated charge between the 2 plans - as I think it would be named differently and not be  flat $15. No one told me it would cost $15 to change my plan….

Can someone explain this for me?

A rate plan change can be done by yourself for free from your Self Serve account. If you require a rep to do this for you, there is a $15 charge.

Help | Koodo Mobile - scroll down and click on “service fees” to see the list of what you can do for free and chargeable service fees.

And what if the rate plan change isn’t possible on self-serve?

I complained about my account and current rate plan and they offered me a better rate plan through the customer care dept (not something that is advertised online on Self-Serve).

Charging me for that is ridiculous. I guess I need to get a rep to call me to talk about this….

Technically, you’re still getting assistance from a rep, but I do see your point. Since this was something that was beyond your control and you could not make the rate plan change yourself, I would suggest scheduling a callback using Koodo Assist.

@Raik44 I suppose you could consider that fee access to their offers you otherwise didn’t have access to.  You probably save more in a coup;e of months than what it cost you to get the help.  You coud also just leave.  Lots of great offers were avialble during black friday.  Maybe there is something similar for boxing week.

Yes, that’s just what I have done. It is just odd to offer me this great plan, not available online, which kept me as a Koodo customer (as I was ready to leave) and then after making me happy they charge me for the service. 🤔

Yeah, I disagree there. If the plan was online and I could just switch viaself-serve, but don’t want to/lazy etc then fine charge me (I guess).

But I was ready to leave Koodo for a better plan elsewhere and they offered me a new plan that was better than what was on self-serve. This was before Black Friday but is better than what they had during that weekend for what I wanted. So I WAS quite happy with the end result but now its a very bitter pill to swallow -  first give me more than I was hoping for but then charge me for it later (and not telling me that would happen). Not ok.

Happy to report my plan change fee was waived upon request. Koodo CS has always been pretty good to me. It’s a shame it is so hard to get a hold of a real person who can fix problems.

Despite what others say don’t let companies charge you for stuff that makes no sense - or least do your best to something waived.
