Both my son and I received the following text on April 12, 2023. The data charges on my bill however were not waived.

A Message from KOODO: We hope you and your family have remained safe during this latest severe weather event.  We will be waiving any incurred data overage charges for this current billing month.  You do not need to take any action (this will automatically be done for you), and you will see these credits on an upcoming bill.

Lemme flag a rep. It’s possible yours was missed.

Hi @Madipan

We are sorry to hear that you were affected!

The data overages incurred between April 6 to 30, 2023 (except for data top ups and add ons) will be waived for Koodo Postpaid customers located in Montreal, Quebec, Gatineau, Quebec, Ottawa, Ontario.

The credits will appear on an upcoming bill and it may not be waived on the current bill.

@Madipan Honestly, I wouldn’t accept the reps explanation if I were you. This notion that dat top ups are not included is idiotic.  When you use up all your data with koodo the only thing you can do is to top up.  Also, what’s with the “upcoming bill” story? is koodo expecting people to pay first than they will be credited? If I were you I would just submit a CCTS complaint if they don’t credit you immediately.

I do agree that that message could have been better drafted. Going directly to CCTS won’t bring anything as I’m pretty sure it’ll be solved before hand here on Koodo’s communty. Quick note that CCTS’s website mentions this :

If you can’t resolve a complaint with your service provider, use this form to submit your complaint to us.

Hello @Madipan ,
I'm sorry for the confusion earlier! I want to assure you that Data top-ups are definitely included in the campaign. The campaign ended on April 30th, and the credits will be applied to the bills following those bill cycle dates.

If your billing cycle was before April 30th, then your credits should appear on your next bill. However, if you don't see the credits on your following bill, please let us know. We'll be more than happy to investigate the matter for you.

The total extras that I paid were not deducted at all in the subsequent bill (only a partial 13x2). I paid 25x2 to acquire additional data during that period that was not returned…

The only way to access extra data is to pay that 25x2 (one for me and one for my son) a total of 50 dollars in addition is still owed to me…

otherwise your texts are misleading, inaccurate and designed to take advantage and more of your client's money.

again,,, it was not refunded

Let me flag a rep for you

Hello @Madipan

I verified the adjustments for the situation and found that all 4 credits were applied! We understand how the situation might be confusing and we apologize for that. That’s because the credits were applied around the same time that the payment was going through.

The $25 x 2 + tax credits = $28.74 ($57.48 for the 2 numbers) were deducted from the April amount . You can compare that with the total amount of the bill on the 1’st page minus the sum for the 2 add-ons.

The $13 x 2 + tax credits =  $14.95 ($29.9 for the 2 numbers) were applied with a delay since the payment was already processed.

In order to confirm that. You can see the $13 + tax credit appears on 4’th and 8’th page of the May bill. The $25 +tax credits, because they affected the previous invoice, appear as adjustments on the 2’nd page of the May bill.

To check the above statements, I would recommend downloading the bill as PDF, we have the steps here

Looks good! I apologize for not looking more carefully and for your trouble… appreciate you checking and explaining, though...
