Hello, I accidentally turned on roaming without realizing it. Will I still be charged even though I turned it off after about 5 seconds?
It doesn’t seem fair. I only wanted to receive a message for banking purposes (which isn’t related to roaming), not to use roaming data. I didn’t intend to use it, and in fact, I never actually used any data—I turned it off right after receiving the roaming notification.
Will I still be charged CAD 16, even though I didn’t use it for more than a few seconds?

I hope not, but phones using data is so fast that you probably did.
It’ll also be a legitimate charge since it was knowingly turning on roaming.
What you can do for the future is you can turn off the data roaming setting in your phone. You can also remove the add-on “international data roaming” that provisions data roaming. There’s a separate “international voice roaming” add-on that provisions talk and text. you can leave that on so you can still receive texts, and get charged only if you make/receive a call, or send an outgoing SMS.
