Stream+ Bundle - Amazon Prime issue

EDIT: As many recommended, I contacted Amazon again to try with a different rep. I didn’t even have to plead, this second rep offered a full refund for my membership that I paid on September 20th. Thanks to everyone!

Hi there!

I recently subscribed (on December 5 2025) to the Stream+ Bundle which includes Disney+, Netflix and Prime. Everything is good and linked up, but when I linked up Amazon Prime, I noticed that I had paid for the yearly subscription of 99$ plus tax on September 20 2025. So I realized that I paid for the year and will then pay monthly through Koodo, essentially doubling payments from now til September 20 2026.

Is there anything I can do for this? I contacted Amazon to ask for a retroactive refund of unused months and they refused me citing i’ve used their services already.

Anyone else has gone through this?

Thanks for your help

You can try contacting Amazon again and getting a different rep. Although not guaranteed, many have had success in getting a prorated refund for the amount of days they have left.

Worst case, once you switch the billing over to stream+ your yearly Amazon subscription gets paused in the background so whenever you cancel Stream+, that will be unpaused so nothing lost!

If amazon is not willing to give you a prorated refund for the unused months, then they should pause your membership when Koodo’s stream+ was activated as it would take over the billing.

I suggest you contact amazon to confirm your annual membership is paused.  And at the same time, if you get a different rep, see if you can ask for a refund on the unused months

Since Amazon refused a retroactive refund for the prepaid year, your best option is to cancel your Amazon Prime annual subscription directly with Amazon and request a prorated refund for unused months again, emphasizing unused service time. Then, activate Prime through Koodo Stream+ after cancellation is confirmed (allow a few hours). Some users succeeded this way after persistence. Unfortunately, Koodo cannot refund Amazon charges or override Amazon’s policy.

So, if I understand what you mean, my plan is now paused, and if I cancel Stream+, lets say, on August 2027, my Prime will start back up from the “unused” months (now til September 20 2026)?

That would be correct!

I contacted a different rep. It worked! Even better, they gave me a full refund.
