Should I pay a connection fee?

Jason Yang

Hi,

A salesperson came to my home and helped me switch from Freedom Mobile to Koodo.

But now, I see a connection fee on my first e-bill. I don’t remember them mentioning this, so I was very confused.

Is this fee normal? Can I get it waived?

Thanks!

This is a normal fee when purchasing or upgrading from a person.  The fee is avoided only for purchases made online that does not requires any assistance from an employee

I have the same question, the salesperson explicitly stated they were going to waive the connection fee to gain me over from Fido. Why it wasn’t waived?

Being charitable, they forgot to note it should be waived. Without it noted in your account or service agreement, any Koodo rep you reach out to will tell you that you must  pay unless you signed up online.

If it isn’t in writing, it never happened.

If it isn’t in writing, it did. not. happen.
