Roaming fees live uses

Hello,
We are currently traveling outside of Canada. My spouse purchased a package with an eSIM, but we noticed in the Koodo details section that data is still being used. There don't seem to be any charges in the cost section, but it seems strange to us to see data being used at no cost while we are outside the country. Can we find out if there are any roaming charges? Will we only find out when we receive our next bill? If I quickly estimate, we would have $3,000 in roaming charges...

Hi there,

Koodo usually sends a text or an email indicating if you’re roaming and that possible charges can incur, did you receive this? You’re correct, you can only see what you’re charged when your bill is issued as a lot of false chargers get screened out when you receive the bill. So to dispute them you would have to wait for the bill to be issued.

Does your spouse happen to have any roaming perk add-ons? As this would include a few days of roaming for free depending on what you have and where you are.

If you’re travelling in the USA, if they have a CAN/US plan then roaming is included. Besides that, to play it safe, it might be better to take out / turn off the koodo sim if you want to avoid possible charges.
