We were charged roaming fees yesterday. We did not leave Canada but we do live close to the border in osoyoos. Please remove them asap.

Hi there,

Was this just the roaming notification? As you will have to wait until your next billing cycle for the charge to show up before it can be credited. Many of these charges get screened out before you receive the bill, so it may not show up.

Going forward, I suggest you follow the steps in the article below to prevent roaming charges when close to the border in future. Specifically, about turning off roaming and adjusting your carrier selection settings. 🙂

When I go into self serve and click on minutes it is showing a charge for Er/vc for $16.00. We need to be in touch with our family and work so can not turn on airplane mode if we may be near the border. We were on mount baldy which is further away from the border than my office so this should not have occurred. Please ensure we will not be charged.

Koodo typically wouldn't do anything until the bill is generated in your account. I would recommend you come back here and once you had the bill with that accidental roaming fee. A rep should be able to assist and give you credit for that.

Koodo postpaid customer technically can't prevent the phone from US roaming. When the US tower signal is stronger, the phone automatically switch to it. To prevent that from happening, you can disable data roaming your phone. As well, disable automatic carrier selection in your device. Manually select Koodo will help.
