Public Mobile promotion to switch to Koodo. free phone and $45 per onth for 100G data . feeing scammed

I was totally happy with Public Mobile but kept getting offers to switch to koodo, for $0 reg $80 transfer fee.  Free phone. They are billing me $5 a month in reality. And $45 /month for 2 years agreement for 100G data with Canada text and talking.  What a scam!!!  I could only access the offer over the phone with koodo, I knew it would be a mistake.  The salesperson agreed to do the promo offer. And switch my plan from public mobile to koodo, and I gave the promocode.  I was to got FREE transfer of services...  koodo has billed me $80!  I was to get a totally FREE $0 phone, they are billing me $5 each month!  And $55 each month for the 100G data and Canada talk and text. When it was agreed to be $45 for 24 months!  Totally  100% different from what she sold me on the phone!

This promo was totally false garbage scam! 


📞 Call 1-833-881-8878 or visit a TELUS/Koodo store near you. Make sure to mention promo code KP2PNOV45

Should have been a free phone with $45/month... reality is not even close.

$80 extra they charged and now $55 / month. Plus they are charging me $5/ month for the phone.  Fix this Koodo! Be honest!

Just to confirm, when you signed up at a store, did they show you an agreement with the current plan and ask you to sign it? Was the agreement the same as the promotion at the time of activation?

No I had gone in person to Telus Koodo store and showed them the promo and the promo code

...they had no idea what it was..couldn't help me with it...said I would have to call the phone number to get the promo.  I knew it was a mistake to call.  I repeated the offer back even and of course they said ..yes yes..to everything correct.  Then sent a totally different bill!

All over the phone nonsense.  I will only deal with written email confirmations. I refuse to speak on phone now.  It is all a trick and scam!

The link that you showed isn't an official link from Koodo/public mobile though. Google AI, unfortunately, isn't the source the you can bring and dispute with Koodo. 

Anyway, did you try to activate during the black Friday event week? Many promotion has already ended since we moved into December .

@Dinh  I called the number and gave the promocode and she said she would set me up with that promo. The free phone. The $45/month for 2 years and $0 transfer fee.  Then when I got the bill it was all garbage from  what was agreed on the phone

I only just got the actual bill today.  I have the phone already I did the promo 2 weeks ago

The connection fee was supposed to be waived with this offer, our apologies for the delay.  As we’re not seeing a pending credit, I’ve added the credit myself to your current total, you should be able to confirm in your online account. 

The plan is $55 per month, $45 after the $10 pre-authorized discount. To benefit from the discount, you need to register for pre-authorized payments via your bank account, not via credit card. Once registered, you will see the discount starting with your next bill. You can find more information on how the discount works here

Regarding the phone tab, the offer was for a Pixel 9 specifically, not a Samsung device so it would not apply in this case.

Thank you sO SO Sooooo much for the reply!  I will switch from credit card to bank tomorrow.  No problem :)  As for the phone promo, yes it was google pixel 9. However she said they were out and suggested this samsung as an option ....after she gad me on hold for a few minutes she came back to say there was good news and that it would be $0 . So I agreed.  Do you have these calls recorded?  I would love love that! Because I replied the entire offer and MADE SURE phone was free. She said yes! And I even asked about shipping or postage and she said free.  It is all in the phone call.

Thank you very much :)  I sincerely hope she remembers. I repeated it to her.  She assured me it was free. Said she had very good news for me it will be $0 for the phone. I double checked she said yes $0.  I really hope this will have honest outcome.  Thank you ​@Georgia Koodo  so much.  I truly appreciate your attention to this matter.
