Please correct US roaming charges!  Never left Victoria BC to travel to the US!!  This happens too frequently. It’s a motivation to switch service providers.

Hi there,

To confirm did the charge show up on your most recent bill or was it just the roaming notification?

If just the notification, you will have to wait for the bill to be posted before it can be credited.

No, it was not just a notification.  The charges are on the bill.  This happens too frequently and is getting very annoying.

Let me flag a rep to help you out.

To avoid this from happening again, make sure to manually select your network to Koodo, so that your phone does not automatically to a nearby U.S. cellular tower. You will need to do this every time you restart your phone.

In the meantime, you may want to upvote this idea. If there are enough votes, Koodo may consider this option in the future.

To add to MilkyWay, you may want to consider switching to a CAN/US plan if this keeps happening.

They sometimes pop up in self serve, but if you have one you wont be charged for US roaming anymore as its included in the plan for free. If you travel there too, you wont be charged.

Lately they have been the same price as canada only plans so might be worth keeping your eye out for one. This can be found in self serve if you go to change your plan.

Hi @knickel

We have reviewed the details and we have been able to remove the roaming charges since they were triggered due to accidental data roaming, feel free to check the details in your self serve account when you get the chance.

For more info about how to prevent accidental roaming charges, please check out this article https://community.koodomobile.com/plans-services-232910/easy-roam-understanding-how-you-will-be-charged-while-traveling-7811296

As Oliver suggested, we recommend checking regularly in self serve if a Canada-US plan is available to you.

With a Canada-US plan, there will be no fees for when the phone picks a US tower while near the border,. On top of that, you can use your phone without additional charges in US (some exceptions apply). More about Canada-US plans, you can find here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/traveling-with-your-canada-us-rate-plan
