Why am I being billed out of Edmonton, AB, when I have always been in ON and have a Toronto area code? The taxes I’m paying would be higher in ON, as it’s HST @ 13%. Are my taxes going in to ON or back to AB? Just hoping there can be some clarity. I’ve never been to Edmonton and I was visiting cousins in Calgary before cell phones existed.
Any help to understand, is appreciated.

Hi there,
The way Koodo charges taxes is based on the phone number and the location of the phone. Your plan’s taxes are based on the area code of the phone number, however, taxes for usage are based on the location.
What is the area code that you have? Have you been to or travelled close to Edmonton recently? And is this only your most recent bill or has it happened for a while?

Hi @jaimatjak, from what we can see, you’re being charged HST on all of your phone lines. You can check all the billing details, including taxes, by downloading your bills in your online account, here is a guide.
