How easy roam is charged?
You are charged easy roam only when you use your phone (sending texting, talk, data) while on a foreign network. This article should help you
If you make or receive a phone call that connects (so going to voicemail counts), send a text message (receiving is free), use data, then you get charged for easy roam for the day. It resets at 11:59pm. Then you pay again for the next day. If you turn off your phone, or take out your sim card, or disable data roaming, or remove roaming as an option in self-serve, are all options to keep from incurring charges.
So easy roam is crazy in the way of cost if we are in the U.S. for a month. Is there not a monthly plan we can add on while we are all away????
No there isn't anymore. There used to be add-ons, and when they replaced them for easy roam, they could still be added if you spoke with a rep. But I honestly have no clue if it's even still an Optik now, and they're pretty limited. I'd stick with getting a local sim card for such a long time, as I suggested in your other thread.
Yes you are right, just spoke to a rep and there are no other options for travel in the U.S. except for Easy Roam!!! I am very disappointed in Koodo. $12 a day is a terrible option. Lost my business…….yes a prepaid SIM card is the option. Thanks!
How do I activate easy roam?
Gee we used to use Easy Roam before Covid but i thought it went “under?”
Sorry I meant “roam mobility” To activate Easy Roam with Koodo just go under manage add ons and turn it on. Then when you first turn on your phone in the U.S. it will start your 24 hour charge I believe…….although now I have seen that it starts at midnight to midnight. So everytime you answer a text or send a text or anything you will be charged $12 every 24 hours to a max of $240 a month. ( I think that is the max)
