Monthly billing increased deom $25 to $32

Koodo called me in2024 and offered me a monthly plan for $25. I told them I am sick of constantly changing mobile companies. They said this price would NEVER increase, so I switched to Koodo, believing that I would never have to switch companies again.

I just noticed that my monthly price increased to $32 in July 2025. This is contrary to the terms of my plan. Please return me to $25, and refund all the overpayments I have made since July 2025.

if this can’t be resolved, I will look for a better plan elsewhere.
Thank You.

I don't think they officially had anything saying that they wouldn't increase the price. Typically, if you got a phone on Tab, that rate plan wouldn't be changed. BYOD plans can be changed with a 30-day notice.

Anyway, regarding your case, do you have something to prove that the price is fixed in your plan?

Unfortunately there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding. The wireless code allows a provider to change or increase rates with 30 days notice.

Only if you have a plan with a tab, is the plan contractually obligated for a 24 month period.

I suggest logging into you self serve to see if you can change your plan. In some cases you may find a less expensive or superior plan.

I realize now that I was scammed by  the Koodo salesperson who called me, and promised that my $25 monthly rate would never increase. I am not normally so gullible, but I believed him. I didn’t receive any contract. I feel so stupid.

oh well, lesson learned. Next time I will insist on getting it in writing. Now I’m going to the mall, where The Telephone  Booth will gladly switch me to a better plan with another provider.

Hi there @JenniferM

We are sorry for the misunderstanding!

Have you had the chance to review the available options in self serve?

Most of the current plans are eligible with the autopay discount which allows you to save more when you have pre-authorized bank payments enabled.

We have also sent you a PM so we review the available options, feel free to check your community inbox when you get the chance.
