invoice is wrong

I looked at my invoice for the upcoming month and the total owed and the breakdown of the bill are not matching up. I can't get through to anyone and the koodo assist chat is not helpful.

I assume you have downloaded the PDF bill and check the page 3 and 4 of it? If possible, can you post a snapshot of it here? Someone might be able to explain.

Just to double check, have you made any changes to your account recently, like an upgrade or activation?

I have not made any changes, says it's a connection fee but I paid that when I bought the phone. Are connection and activation fees different?

The connection fee would be charged indeed when upgrading over the phone with a rep or in a store.
