invalid roaming charges and Request to Review and Remove Accidental Roaming Charges

Hello Koodo Support Team,

 

I am writing regarding additional roaming charges on my recent bill: $18 for Italy and $16 for the USA.

 

I want to clearly state that I did not intentionally use any roaming services, especially in Italy. When I arrived, I forgot to immediately turn on airplane mode. During that short time, my phone briefly connected to the local network automatically. I use an eSIM, and as soon as I noticed the connection, I turned on airplane mode.

 

There was no intentional data usage, calls, or messages. If your records show 1 MB or any minimal background data, I understand how that could have happened automatically while the device connected for a moment. However, these charges were completely accidental and unintentional.

 

I respectfully request that these roaming charges be reviewed and credited back, as I did not actively use any services. I have been a responsible customer and always try to avoid roaming charges while traveling.

Let me flag a rep for you.

To avoid this from happening again, you can turn off the Koodo eSIM in your settings to prevent your phone from automatically connecting to a cellular tower. 

In the meantime, you may want to upvote this idea. If there are enough votes, Koodo may consider this option in the future.

I m not satisfied with that guy , its totally unacceptable give me favour please reimbursed that for next trip i will not turn on my phone even though i deleting my esim theses are really charging otherwise i think to switch on fido they understand because same thing happened with my wife they give a adjustment but u guys look like u stole my money

Unfortunately asking for a 1 time exception is solely at the discretion of the rep when you spoke with on the phone already

I m not properly understanding that call if you want you can check the recording of that day voice of rep is not properly so i cut in between i don’t know but i m really disappointed with Koodo , so please tell me whats the process for number PORT i dont wana stay with koodo

In the post above, a Koodo rep mentioned that the fee was valid in their system. If you would like to dispute it, you would have to schedule another callback.

To Port/Transfer to another carrier, you don't have to contact Koodo. You can initiate the transfer request from another carrier and Koodo will send you the message to confirm (which you have to reply Yes).
