I'm traveling in Brazil for a while, and as far as I know, Koodo doesn't charge for international incoming SMS, such as SMS coming from Canada. I made sure to disable data and roaming, but I am still being charged daily fees for international roaming, each time I get an SMS.

If you were charged for easyroam, there must be something happened to your account. When you said you disable data and roaming, did you disable cellular data and data roaming toggle? As well, did you make any call or send any text?
When you sign into self-serve and check usage, what did they say about your data and text usage there?
