Hello,

on Dec 24,2025 I was charged a Easy Roam fee and I was not in the USA. On Dec 24,2025 I was skiing at Mount Baldy outside of Oliver BC Canada. This location is well within the boarders of Canada and within BC.

please check your records and remove the charge.

thanks

Hello @Joe Last

We have reviewed the details and we have been able to remove the roaming charges since they were triggered due to accidental data roaming, feel free to check the details in your self serve account when you get the chance.

We recommend switching data roaming off and also switch to manual network and select Koodo, this would prevent the connection to a US tower when near the border.

For more info about how to prevent accidental roaming charges, please check out this article https://community.koodomobile.com/plans-services-232910/easy-roam-understanding-how-you-will-be-charged-while-traveling-7811296

Also, feel free to check the available  plans in your self serve account, as you might be eligible for a Canada-US plan: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/changing-your-rate-plan

With a Canada-US plan, there will be no fees for when the phone picks a US tower while near the border,. On top of that, you can use your phone without additional charges in US (some exceptions apply). Just to confirm, have you received the latest bill yet?

Normally in your case, Koodo will give you the credit to compensate for the accidental roaming fee. In the future to avoid similar issue,  disable data roaming and automatic carrier selection in the phone. Manually select Koodo when you travel near us border will help.

Hey Dinh,

yes I have received my bill and yes Koodo charged for roaming. Hopefully they will remove the charges.

I have now turned my auto roaming off so this issue should not occur again.

thx

I’ll give a rep a nudge to come take a look at the charges. Just make sure to login to the community using your self serve credentials and they can take a peek!

Going forward in addition to turning off roaming you should also look at switching your carrier selection setting from automatic to manual and then Koodo. This should also help. Just note these may need to be reset if you restart the device. More can be found below. 🙂
