i have been charged a lot on my last bill !?

I bought a tab on my number and I wasn’t told that there is some sort of tab bonus thing or something.

I bought it for $414 and I wanted to change my carrier. So I went to a Koodo representative and asked him regarding it . He told me that you can change it and I was ready to pay the full amount of the phone, which he said I  will receive in the last bill.
I was waiting for my last bill but I got the notification one month later and now I see I have been charged a fee and instead of the Tab fee amount, they have charged me a lot more and now the bill turns out to be $847

Hey,

Your high final bill likely includes the full remaining phone tab balance plus the tab bonus repayment because you cancelled your service before completing the 24-month contract. The tab bonus is a credit that reduces your phone cost only if you stay for the full term; cancelling early triggers the bonus being charged back in full, which can double your expected charge. This explains why you were charged $847 instead of just the $414 phone cost.

Hi @Anshneetv

We have looked into it and we can confirm the remaining tab bonus was indeed charged on the bill, we also recommend checking the service agreement details for more details.

When canceliing/ porting out before the end of the agreement, any remaining tab and tab bonus are charged on the final bill, for more info please check the support article here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/things-know-about-cancelling-koodo

I am little confused, in the first post it was you who said the rep mentioned you would have to pay the "full amount of the phone". That includes the tab balance and tab bonus in your account.

At this point, if you would like to dispute, you have to schedule a call back from a rep.

Unfortunately, unless you had anything in writing that the rep said so, it is tough for Koodo to do anything here in the forum. The Tab bonus has been part of the agreement for years and it is showed up in selfserve as well.

Is there a midway we could figure it out . Since, now I have to pay almost double the amount which is. Lot for me . Idk what to so at this matter. But I am really hoping that Koodo should get much professional representatives because trusting them landing me in this problem.
Also as I got my bill notification in my mail on dec 4th

I have been charged $50 NSF fees . I had enough to pay my $414 bill but not enough for $847. I wasn’t informed first or anything.

This is customer forum, there are some limitations that Koodo can do here. For issue like this, I recommend you schedule a call back from them. They might be able to help. Go here www.koodo.com/chat

One option is to return back to Koodo and ask them to void the fee, but that should only work if you didn't take a new phone from the new carrier.

@Anshneetv

According to the details we see on our end, the account is cancelled. Please follow the link suggested by DInh above to schedule a call back, so a rep can further look into the options for you.

Oh, that is little difficult. You still have to schedule a call back from Koodo though.

What you could do is to ask for a return/refund of the new phone. Since it is recent, you might able to do it and that would not trigger any payback.

After that ask the rep to "revive/reactivate" the previous line and put everything back to your account so you can avoid the hefty amount bill.

It totally depends on Koodo rep though. I recommend you be polite and respectful. Hopefully they can help you

It depends on many factors - that only Koodo reps can answer and check when they review your account.
