Question

Easy roam - wrong charge

Hello,

I have billing issues with my latest invoice - charged on both numbers for easy roam when not in the states. Please correct immediately.

We have turned off roaming on both our phones.

Why efforts do you make to verify charges are accurate before invoicing the customer?

Thanks,

Marisa

You can't technical turn off US roaming from Koodo end. If you turn off data roaming, the phone can still connect to US tower for call and texting. If you would like to force the phone, you will have to disable carrier selection and manually select Koodo in settings

Anyway for cases like this, Koodo typically refund the amount. Let me flag a rep to look into it

@Dinh I understand you cannot disable it. Rather my question is, does your billing team review roaming charges prior to sending to the customer? It seems like this is a lot of wasted time each month on both our behalfs and could be easily resolved if Koodo verified charges prior to billing them.

@Dinh also I have not heard back from a billing rep, the charges are still on my account.

No carriers has manpower to set a rep to manually review all charges. It is all automated. Let me flag a rep to look into it again

Hi @mkma ,

We have reviewed the details and we have been able to remove the roaming charges , feel free to check the details in your self serve account when you get the chance.

We recommend switching data roaming off and also switch to manual network and select Koodo, this would prevent the connection to a US tower when near the border.

For more info about how to prevent accidental roaming charges, please check out this article : Koodo Roaming
Also, feel free to check the available  plans in your self serve account, as you might be eligible for a Canada-US plan: Koodo rate plans
With a Canada-US plan, there will be no fees for when the phone picks a US tower while near the border,. On top of that, you can use your phone without additional charges in US (some exceptions apply). More about Canada-US plans, you can find here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/traveling-with-your-canada-us-rate-plan
