I am living in France for 4 months and just had my phone stolen. I bought a new phone and have since been charged 3 days for Easy Roam minutes even though I have not made a call. Mobile data and roaming are turned off in my settings. I cannot call the 1-800 number to ask about this because I do not have international calling. Any idea how I can get these charges credited back to my account and prevent future charges?

Hi @JLauwer

We have looked into it and we can see only one roaming charge on the last bill, which was triggered due to data usage.

Can you please let us know where you see the other two charges?

They have been over the past 2 days, January 31st and February 1st. So they will be on my next bill. I do not know why the first charge would have been made unless whoever stole my old phone turned the data on before I locked it down. I just got this new one on January 30th which is why the two days in a row concerns me.

Were you charged easy roam because  the phone was lost and someone used it? or it happened when the phone was still in your procession? Have you tried to log into self-serve and check data usage to see how much data Koodo reported that you used for those days? If there was a tiny amount, they might be able to waive it.

If you see pending charges for the current bill, please reach back here once the bill is posted so we can look into it.

Only the first charge was the day someone stole my phone. The sim card has since been switched over to my new phone. There was no data used on any of the three days that easy roam was charged.

How much data was reported on that day? Even the SIM was stolen, you would still be responsible for it though. If it was a significant amount, I recommend you contact Koodo directly and ask a rep to look into it. you could chat with a rep via Facebook if you are overseas. https://www.facebook.com/Koodo
