I was going over my monthly charges and I noticed i got charged $10 for data roaming.  At the time I was in my home, probably sleeping.  I am in Southern Ontario Canada.  How do I get this charge removed.  How do I keep from getting roaming charges in the future

Hi @Purple J we’ve checked the charge you mentioned and as it is accidental roaming we have added a credit to your account, you can check it out in your self-serve.

To avoid future charges please make sure that the data roaming is off in your phone settings and you are manually connecting to the Koodo network.

My data roaming is ALWAYS turned off. I've tried in the past to stay only connected to koodo,  but if I've discovered that when this happens, if for some reason the signal with koodo is lost, I can't make or receive calls, or texts. I have several family members with life threatening medical conditions and I need to be able to receive a signal 24/7.  Thanks for the quick response.  I just checked,  the credit is not showing as of this moment,. How long before I will see it?

I recently posted a question about a $ 10 data roaming charge, and someone replied with the mention of an accidental data charge mention and the mention of a credit to my bill. I checked and I don't see the credit yet. How long will it take to show. My data roaming is ALWAYS turned off. I tried to just stay connected to koodo,  but there was one occasion where the koodo signal was lost and I couldn't make, or receive calls or send or receive texts.  I need to always have a signal as I have several family members with life threatening medical conditions and I need to always be available

Have you receive your latest bill yet? and check the page 3 of the PDF. Koodo doesn’t reissue bill for the previous month. If you had any credit, it will be forwarded to the next bill.

I won't receive my next bill until the end of the month.  My billing cycle ends on the 28th. This charge occurred on the 16th of January.  I will look for the credit on my next bill. Why would there be a roaming charge if my data roaming is turned off?

@Purple J I’ve moved your responses to the existing open post to keep them together. You can also keep posting in the same thread.

You can see the credit reflected in your account total, you will also be able to see it on your next bill.

The data roaming was likely not off at the time the charge happened. We’d recommend checking from time to time to make sure it is toggled off as certain actions like a network settings reset will re-activate it.
