Charged for easy roam, I never left the country. Second time this has happened.

Hello, i have tried reaching out via phone but was sent to voicemail and directed to use the online services. 

I have been charged $54 dollars for easy roaming. This feature is not an add-on on my account. I have my data roaming off. This is the second time this has happened, last month I had to pay $187 when I didnt even leave the country. 

This is so disappointing. Please check your call records as I was told by the operator I spoke to that my next bill for this month should’ve been its regular amount with no additional and unnecessary charges.

Just to confirm, are you currently traveling outside of Canada? Turning data roaming OFf doesn't guarantee no roaming fee. If you send SMS, make/receive call, roaming fee will be applied as well.

And you mentioned you would like to add easyroam?

no. i did not leave. i do not wanna add on easyroaming. disregard the initial message. i managed to get in touch with a rep.

Are you traveling near US border by any chance?

I will as well, flag a rep to see if the roaming fee is accidental or not

Hi ​@Ikhlas Daneal, we can see the charges have already been adjusted by the agent you’ve spoken with from the Koodo Expert Messaging team. The bill will not be reissued but you can confirmed your updated total in your online account under the ‘Pay now’ section. 

To avoid future charges please make sure that the data roaming is off in your phone settings and you are manually connecting to the Koodo network. For more details on how to prevent accidental roaming charges, you can check out this article.
