Charged a connection fee (invalid)

Yes I went the store , talked to the lady there about a new phone.  Decided on one , went through all questions , paper work etc, went home with new phone, looked at it, explored it, decided I did not want it. Took it back 2 hours later, same day. Contract should have been cancelled same day, now I’m being charged a connection for something I don’t have. Also put a request in for a call back to discuss this, waiting a week now, no call back.

Long time customer. So I’m paying $70 for nothing, is that right. How could they setup and help when I don’t have the new phone. Well I’m glad I could help them to increase their profits. (more like stealing). Guess it’s time to look for someone else

Because they setup and helped you with the phone they sold you. The fee is for the service, which was provided. Then the phone was returned. You get your money back for the phone which was returned, but you don’t get your money back for the service, since the service was already performed and is not something that can be undone.

Do keep in mind in the future that this is standard across all telecoms (to my knowledge at least).

When upgrading an existing line, and then returning a phone bought in store, the connection fee is not refunded. The connection fee is for the setup and help with the device which they would’ve done regardless of if you kept it or not.

The only time it gets refunded, would be if you were a new customer to Koodo, setting up a new line/number, and were returning/cancelling that number within the return period.

Can you confirm which scenario you would be in?
