I currently have pre-authorized payments set up on my account. I want to change the amount I am paying but when checking my account I only see the option to set up new payments and cannot locate where I can just make the change to the current payment amounts.
My concern is that if I set up a new pre-authorized payment amount is that both amounts will be paid.
Any suggestions and help is appreciated.
Thank you.

When you set up pre authorized payments, it charges the full amount of your bill due, 10-15 days before your bill is due.
There is no option to set how much money comes out, it’s simply whatever amount is owed.
@Allan M - my account is showing a credit balance as the payments that are being taken from my account are higher than my actual bill. It looks like the original set up was for a specific amount and that amount turns out to be higher than the charges. Hopefully I can figure it out and get the amount I am paying lowered.
Pre-Authorized payments from Koodo will always take the amount owing on the bill. If nothing is due, no money will be charged.
Do you perhaps have recurring payments setup through your bank?
@Allan M - recurring payments from my bank would the easiest solution but unfortunately that is not the case.
The Terms of Service for prepaid services says this: “ For prepaid service, the amount withdrawn will be the specific amount you determine when setting up the pre‑authorized payment. “
I set up a specific amount and need to change that amount but am not sure how to go about it.
Thank you for your help.
Even prepaid, they consider how much of a credit is on your account before charging your card.
At this point, I would try removing your pre authorized payment from your account completely, letting the amount you have wind down, and then re-add your information.
Hi there @jem2006 We have looked into your account, and you have never been on preauthorized payments. You have always made online payments (Electronic Funds) through your bank, and have been overpaying, hence the reason you have a credit on your account.
As @Allan M mentioned above. “Pre-Authorized payments from Koodo will always take the amount owing on the bill. If nothing is due, no money will be charged”
We suggest setting up Pre-Authorized payments in your self-serve, this will make things much easier and you will not be overpaying your account.
Here is a helpful article.
Hope this helped!
Cheers,
Thank you for the help.
There is obviously something wrong with my bank records then as there is no indication that this payment is set up as a pre-auth payment, resulting in me thinking the pre-auth was set up directly through Koodo.
Off to the bank I go!
I appreciate your help and will make necessary adjustments based on information provided.
