I am an international student and would like to get a new SIM, currently looking that the online only starter plan of $15/month. Would it be possible to make payments for this at a local store?
I have not set up a bank account yet, since I assume I will have to put in my phone number as contact details (which I don’t have), so I cannot make payments online.
I have my own device too so all I’ll need is the SIM.
In that case, why not open a prepaid account?
You can check Koodo’s prepaid, or Public mobile prepaid account. You don’t have to go through credit check and you don’t get any overage.
Plus those prepaid plans usually have really good overage rates for minutes and data, as well as some international minutes benefits.
There is no roaming outside of North America though.

It would not be. You can’t make payments on postpaid plan in store anymore, only prepaid.
