Hello, I have a usage charge of $3.20 under minutes on my most recent bill.  It says it’s for calls to Miami.  These were not completed by me, I have no idea why I am being charged for these.  Can you please look into this?

Thanks, Amanda

Looking into by a rep would confirm that they occurred I imagine. Can you match up the call history on your phone with when your detailed billing says the call occurred, and match the phone number? Does anyone else have access to your phone that you can ask?

No one else has access to my phone, and I do see 4 calls out within seconds of each other to a number in Miami.  But I do not know anyone or have made any calls to anyone in the US. Are you able to tell me who owns this number?  I understand if that is against privacy laws.

A quick google did not reveal the number as a known number being used.

When you check your phone’s history (calls and text) Was their an incoming call from that number or a text from that number?

No texts or incoming calls from that number.

Since you see the number phone history, you have confirmed that the call was made from your phone.  So this is a legitimate call.

I did call the number myself to check.

A “Jackson” answered from the Jaguar Corporation.  Does this ring any bells?

I did hang up on him without saying hi 🙄

Definitely does not ring a bell.  I assume someone could not take over my number and cause future charges.  I’m not worried a out paying the $3.20, I just don’t want any future charges.

i do appreciate you making the phone call.

It is highly unlikely someone took over your number just to make a call to Jaguar in the Miami area.

I would check if you have an app that might have permissions set to make calls.  Of if you have a newer app installed during that period that might be untrustworthy and maybe it made a call through an ad.
