Hi there,

I'm using an eSIM, and if I travel to the US and turn off my Koodo cellular plan (I have multiple eSIMs with different cellular plans installed) from day 1, would I still be charged for easy roam? Additionally, if I forward my Koodo number to another local phone while traveling and keep the Koodo cellular plan turned off the entire time, would I be charged for anything?

Thanks!

If you turn off the eSIM, there is no cellular connection via Koodo so there won’t be any roaming fee.

Regarding the number forwarding:

  • It is not free. If you don’t want to pay the $0.6/min you would need the call forward add-on ($3) in self serve.
  • If you forward to an US number, US long distance rate will be applied.
  • Make sure you enable call forward while you are in Canada. If you setup call forward when you are roaming in the US, you might have to pay roaming fee for those call forwarding minutes.
